Rep. John Murtha was in danger of losing his seat before his “friends” supplied him with a wad of cash, Jim McElhatton reports.
Murtha’s seat was safe until he said people in western Pennsylvania were too “racist” and “redneck” to vote for Barack Obama.
SEE RELATED:Murtha might have thought his constituents — those same western Pennsylvania voters — would consider his comments part of his “charm offensive,” but they just found it “plain offensive.” Or maybe he thought he could “shame” them into voting for Obama, but they just found his remarks “a shame.”
Still, with enough money, it looks like you can get even “racists” and “rednecks” to re-elect you.
