Same-sex marriage advocates in California are encouraging people to “call in gay” on Wednesday to protest the passage of Proposition 8, the state’s constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, the AP is reporting.
It’s being called “A Day Without a Gay,” much like last year’s “A Day Without a Mexican,” when immigrant-rights supporters were encouraged not to spend money or go to work.
