An Air New Zealand passenger jet — a Boeing 747 — is being powered with a mixture of aviation fuel and vegetable oil, winning praise as a technological and ecological breakthrough, the BBC is reporting.

And when passengers are asked about their seating preferences, they also are asked, “Do you want fries with that?”
