Judges dismisses Cheney indictments

A Texas judge has dismissed grand jury indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales because of a technicality, the AP is reporting.

Alternates had been placed on the grand jury without proper authorization, Administrative Judge Manuel Banales of Willacy County noted in voiding the indictments.

It’s a good thing there was a legal technicality to nullify the indictments because it looked like the prosecution was contemplating an insanity defense.
