One quick follow-up from Virginia Tech’s 17-10 defeat of East Carolina: It was the fourth best run defense performance in the ACC since 2004. It was also Virginia Tech’s best rushing defense day since keeping Temple to minus-15 yards in 2000.
The Hokies limited East Carolina to minus-15 yards rushing, a figure that included five sacks of Pirates quarterback Dominique Davis. That was the best rushing defense performance by an ACC team since Virginia kept Duke to minus-21 yards in 2006.
