It was a good week for the folks at the EagleBank Bowl.

As mentioned just one post earlier, the ACC did quite well for itself this week. And since the EagleBank Bowl (which will be played on Dec. 20 at RFK Stadium) gets the No. 9 choice from the ACC, there is a spillover effect.

So here’s how things stand:

ACC teams with 2+ wins: 11
ACC teams at .500 or better: 11
Current projected team to the EagleBank Bowl: Boston College, N.C. State or Duke

That’s all highly subject to change over the final 70 percent of the season.

But even better news came from Navy, which made up for its loss to Duke by beating Rutgers today —- and thereby giving back a little wiggle room in the pursuit of six victories. The Mids improved to 2-2 with the 23-21 win

So that’s a doubly good development for a first-year bowl game that would be well-served to have Navy and an ACC team rather than scrounge the leftovers of other conferences and bring in a pair of teams from more than 500 miles away.
